Datcon Instrument Company has been registered to the Quality System Requirements (QSR) QS-9000 quality standard by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) (Certificate No. 17721). QS-9000 is regarded as the premier quality certification for the automotive industry and in fact, many other industries including heavy truck and off-highway may require this certification from their suppliers.

QS-9000 includes ISO 9000-based requirements plus additional elements, "sector-specific" requirements (i.e. the Production Part Approval Process or PPAP, Continuous Improvement; and Manufacturing Capabilities), and "customer-specific" requirements (e.g. Chrysler, Ford, GM and various Truck Manufacturers). Of particular note, QS-9000 looks for objective evidence of continuous improvements in every element in a company's Quality System.

More than 15,000 companies worldwide have earned ISO 9001. However, only 1,000 companies have achieved QS-9000.
