LANCASTER, PA, August, 1996. Datcon Instrument Company has introduced a new line of rugged Heavy Duty Pressure Switches rated at 4 psi and 14 psi in either normally opened or closed configurations. These units offer a high degree of switching point accuracy and reliability, sealed construction and corrosion resistance, improved durability, compact space-saving size, and very competitive pricing. In keeping with the theme of Datcon's "Heavy Duty" family of products, these new products may be used in demanding applications requiring pressure switching.

The switches are factory set to either 4 psi or 14 psi, although they may be set in the range of 4-7 psi or 14-20 psi, respectively. Set point adjusting screws are factory sealed. Switch contacts open or close on ascending pressure, depending on type. Electrical circuits are isolated from their steel bases. Switch current is rated at 8 amps (12V DC non-inductive).

The new Heavy Duty Pressure Switch features a zinc-plated two-part steel body, zinc-plated and yellow chromate-coated steel parts, a reinforced molded top, a direct action blade contact in silver alloy, nickel-plated brass terminals and stainless steel screws. Mounting thread size is 1/8-27 dryseal NPTF.

Maximum operating pressure is 150 psi and proof pressure is 500 psi. Switches perform reliably in an operating temperature range of -40°F to +250°F. Accuracy ranges from +/- 0.8 psi at 4 psi to +/- 2.5 psi at 14 psi.

These Heavy Duty Pressure Switches are a result of extensive research and development to provide a high-quality, economical solution for our customers. Units are now in production and available for immediate delivery.
