LANCASTER, PA, August, 1996. Datcon Instrument Company has introduced a new line of 12/24 volt Heavy Duty 2-inch (52 mm) Tachometers and Speedometers which are ideal for applications where space is limited. Tachometers are available for gasoline engines with battery, electronic or Magneto ignition; diesel engines with alternator, magnetic pick-up or pulse generator type signals; and marine outboard engines with direct crankshaft-driven alternators. Speedometers are compatible with any input source.

The Heavy Duty 2-inch Tachometer and Speedometer feature an all-new Surface Mount Technology (SMT) circuit board design with increased sensitivity and flexibility in accommodating different signal inputs and dual voltage capability. The units are rated at +/- 2% full-scale accuracy over the full sweep of the dial. In addition, the Heavy Duty 2-inch Tachometer and Speedometer comply with SAE J1399 and SAE J1226, respectively.

The units, like other Datcon meters and gauges, utilize our unique Magna-Torque^TM air-core movement with heavier-wound, fully sealed bobbins for superior accuracy, response and stability. Black or polished chrome SAE step bezels are available.

Heavy Duty 2-inch Tachometers and Speedometers are now in production and ready for immediate delivery. Units are competitively priced as well.
